My Event Photography Style
Events and celebrations, at their core, are about human connection. They’re about experiencing joy, together – and that in itself is amazing. But it’s even more amazing to be able to look back at it, and experience it all over again, and that’s my goal for event and wedding photography packages. I attend and document your event, capturing the small moments and the big ones, and quietly (and sometimes loudly, where coordinating group shots is concerned!) photograph the laughter, and the tears, and the smiles, and the love.
From the most tender of moments to the rowdy joy of your wedding reception, I’ll be there, making sure you have an album of photos that takes you straight back into those feelings.

Whether my goal is to quickly capture some group photos of your family members who’ve traveled in for the event, or to capture every moment from beginning to end, being able to look back at the details means the joy keeps going, long after the event itself has ended.

What to Expect
When you work with Malone Portraits for your wedding or event photography, you don’t have to worry about stiff posing, feeling awkward, or stressing about the “vision” – I worry about that side of things so you don’t have to. Before your big day, no matter what the big day is, we’ll have a consultation (either in person or online) to talk about key moments you want me to capture, the flow of the event, and what’s most important to you and your people.
From there, I take over, and ensure that all of those key moments (and more) are documented for you. I’ve spent years perfecting not only my own timing, but my skill in pulling genuine emotion from even the most camera-shy subjects. So even that one relative who hates having their picture taken will love the final images in your package! And low stress for your guests, means less stress for you.

Consultation
Before your event, we’ll have a consultation to talk about your hopes and dreams – the vision you have for your event, and the images we’ll capture on the day. We’ll go over all the details, so you feel 100% comfortable!
The Big Day
The day of your event, I’ll arrive, say hi, and get to work documenting the goings-on! Where needed, I’ll contribute to keeping the day moving, since some key photos might be based on specific timings.
Gallery & Printing
After your event, I’ll edit your final images, and deliver them in a gallery you can view online. But if you want, I also offer ordering appointments, to pair you with prints and albums to keep forever.
After Your Event is Done
Event photography packages usually include a whole suite of images, that paint a picture of the day from beginning to end. That means when you’re done, there are a lot of images to look through! But receiving your photos as digitals is really just the beginning.
After your event, we can have an ordering appointment, where we individually select your favorite images from the gallery, to print for your home, give as gifts to event guests, or print a custom album hand-crafted by luxury providers I partner with.
I can’t underscore enough how meaningful these heirloom print products end up being for families – they’re not just a temporary change to the background on your phone, they make your memories real.
Questions About Minneapolis Wedding & Event Photography?
Choosing a photographer to attend a family event or wedding is a major decision, and I want to make sure you feel completely ready before hiring Malone Portraits to document your day. I’ve collected a handful of questions that are commonly asked, but if you don’t see yours here, don’t worry. Just reach out, and we can see if Malone Portraits will be a good fit for your event!
How long can event coverage last?
As long as you need! Every event is different, just like every family is different, and at Malone Portraits I tailor every package to your specific needs.
What size images will I receive?
Great question. Your images will be available in both print and web resolutions for download after your event. However, I also offer printing services, so that you don’t have to take on any guesswork when it comes to ordering images to hang in your home!
What if I don't want my event shared online?
That is completely fine. Just let me know, and I won’t use your images on my website, social media, or advertizing. Your privacy and comfort are deeply important to me, and I will absolutely respect your wishes to keep your images offline.
What if I have guests who can't be in photos?
There are a variety of reasons someone may not be allowed to appear in images, and Malone Portraits takes requests to avoid photographing specific guests very seriously. If you have a guest (or multiple!) who can’t appear in the photos from your event, just make me aware of who they are before I begin your event coverage. I’ll ensure their faces aren’t included in any final shots.
Do I have to order prints, or can I just receive digital images?
It is entirely up to you whether you order prints of your images after your event. Most event photography clients do choose to order prints, but it’s your decision, and your decision alone. There is no pressure from my side to include prints in your package!
How much does event coverage cost?
All packages with Malone Portraits are tailored to your specific situation, so the cost can vary. The best way to get a quote for your session, is to reach out, and we can have a conversation about it!
There’s a big difference between coverage for an elopement, and coverage for a ten-hour full-day wedding!
