Empowering Women Through Song: Event Photos for the See Change Treble Choir
Celebrating Women’s Artistry & Community
At Malone Portraits, we are passionate about supporting local groups that align with our values of diversity, community, and artistic expression. This year, we had the privilege of sharing our event photography services with the See Change Treble Choir Gala. Not just a great excuse to whip out my sparkly jumpsuit, but also a great cause! See Change is dedicated to celebrating and sharing the strength and creativity of women through song, collaboration, and community. Their mission, beautifully articulated by Founding Artistic Director Angela Kasper, resonates deeply with us:
“The ensemble shall consist of 32 amazing humans, all ages, all experiential levels, who are dedicated to celebrating and sharing the strength and creativity of women through song. Through our presence as creative, supportive, and intelligent women, we hope to serve as an example of what women can do when they work together and play together respectfully.”
This brand is run by just myself and my studio manager, so we are no strangers to exchanges between women of different ages and backgrounds. We recognize the vital importance of bringing together people who would otherwise never meet and celebrating cultures they would otherwise not encounter. We are also big fans of music and retired choir kids, so this opportunity to collaborate seemed like fate.
The Venue: Minneapolis Cider Company
The gala was held at the Minneapolis Cider Company, a venue known for its vibrant atmosphere and commitment to the local community. The space provided a perfect backdrop for an evening of celebration and music. The ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the stage for a memorable event that highlighted the choir’s incredible talent and dedication. If you’re a fan of pickleball and delicious crepes, definitely check them out!
The Raffle & Mystery Wine Pull
Some of the highlights of the evening were the raffle and mystery wine pull. Guests had the opportunity to win a variety of prizes, generously donated by local businesses. (including a Malone Portraits Mini Session!) The excitement and anticipation of the raffle added an element of fun to the evening, while the mystery wine pull allowed attendees to take home a surprise bottle of wine, adding a delightful twist to the event. We were thrilled to donate a mini session as part of the raffle prizes, supporting the group while showcasing our photography services. Interactive elements like these add so much to an event and make for great candids!
Importance of Diversity & Artistic Outlets
Diversity and artistic expression are at the heart of SeeChange Treble Choir’s mission. By honoring diverse music in an authentic way and nurturing a supportive community of women, they create a space where all voices are heard and celebrated. Their democratic process ensures that every member contributes to the ensemble’s decisions, fostering a sense of inclusion and empowerment. This approach not only enriches their music but also serves as a powerful example of what women can achieve when they work and play together respectfully.
